Pentagon Official Urges Companies to Boycott Law Firms Representing Gitmo Detainees

Charles Stimson, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for detainee affairs, has named a dozen law firms representing detainees held at Guantanamo Bay and suggested that companies consider not doing business with them.

He said that company CEOs could make law firms "choose between representing terrorists or representing reputable firms". A full list is to be released to conservative talk show host Monica Crowley in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.

The president of the American Bar Association said the comments were deeply offensive. The chairman of the Judiciary Committee called on President Bush to disavow the comments. The Pentagon and the White House have no official comment.

WHAT THE [censored]!!!!!

It has come out that many of the detainees have no evidence against them. That we are holding them against the policy set forth in the Geneva convention. Now we are starting black balled lists? The reds are coming the reds are coming. Oh wait this isn't the communist scare it is the terrorist scare.

We are illegally holding prisoners from an illegal war started with at best poor intelligence at worst lies.

Just an FYI. The FBI never added 9/11 to USAMA Bin Ladens wanted poster. Why you ask? Not enough evidence they said. Check for yourself on the FBI site. Here is a link.

Enough to go to war, but not enough to add it to his wanted poster.
