To all who want their ps2 console moded:

I've been cheated by an online modchip store named www.modchip.ca

This terrible merchant take advantage of the currency convert difference
to overcharge me by 10%.

On their website the product price are in US dollars, while, when you check
out the price magically convert into canadian collars???

Just after you place your order, they send you an email said :
"The total is in Canadian Dollars, for the approximate
US total divide by 1.4**** Please note some credit card processors
actually pre authorize an amount higher then the total show, this is
simply to hold the funds so that when we complete the order the funds
are available. You will only be charged the amount we have shown
so please don't be alarmed."

The next day i checked my credit card, it obviously has been overcharged,
but, thinking of their statement above, I decide to wait to see what will
happen. but after 5 days, the price(on my credit card in US$) still
haven't changed. it seemed they actually use 1.27 to convert Canadian Dollar
to US Dollar, and they never confess their fault. Such a price cheater!!!
Why can not they show the canadian dollar price on the web, only reason I
can think is they want to extract more of your $$$ from your wallet!!

I wanted to return the product for the overcharge, but they said they never
return money for any kind of product they sold.

This is not the worst part. It's just the beginning of my nightmare!!!
7 days later I received my order, have to admit their shipping speed is
some kind of good.

I carefully solder the chip to my ps2. after reassembling, I can not make my
ps2 working. Diassemble and check again. It seemed that my bios chip died.

Don't buy so called clip set who said they can simplify your soldering work.
what they can do is just a terrible mess, they are all junk!!!
the clip is so hard to set onto the bios chip, you have
to use lots effort to press them, again and again, otherwise the test lights
on the clip won't all turn green.
eventually I damaged my bios chip!!! :~~~~(

I spended so much money just got some junk and end in damaging my whole console.
Although I might use too much force when installing the clip on BIOS chip, the
clip itself is too hard to be fitted on the chip. That so-called clip to
simplify the soldering is just a junk and my bigest fault is chosing to buy
things from this GREAT store:
www.modchip.ca

I now write this down to warn anyone who want to mod their console.
Do not make the mistake as I did.

Xbox-Scene has links to some trustworthy mod chip makers for all consoles.

and if at all possible, try to by a product such as a modchip from someone you know.
Hey Giz youve gotta be careful when you do the "switcheroo" with consoles because some places (target) scan the barcode on the box and on the console. I swapped faulty gamecubes (it was a free broken one, so i figured why not?) and I actually had to take the GC apart, swap the innards then return the new GC shell with my old broken GC guts in it. Other wise the serial numbers wouldnt have matched on the reciept
