Installing linux locally, but using telnet/ssh - 01/10/05 06:22 AM
I managed to find a machine that I can play around with, and I want to install CentOS on it. The only problem is I don't have a monitor for it. I can put the CD in the system, but from there I don't have any way to start the install. Is there any way I can ssh/telnet to the machine and run the install?

go grab a monitor, move it over to this pc for an hour while you do the install, turn on the sshd, and then put it back where you found it.

silly, you should know how to install with just a keyboard, know all of the commands you need and the prompts, then after you install you can sort out the mess you've made with ssh! :-)

you should know how to install it, just by concentrating really hard while staring at the machine!

install gentoo and use a network install
