Here's my problem (i'll try to be as clear as possible) :

I want to install Slackware-8.1 on my old P1 120 Mhz. (wich does not support boot on cd) So I made a bootdisk(bare.i) wich works perfectly. The problem is when I need to enter where to boot (cd or Enter to boot on a rootdisk).

So I tried to boot first on cd and i got this message :
Code
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
Then, I tried to boot on floppy with a rootdisk(initrd.img) and i got this :
Code
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0.
*It seems to read on the floppy but does nothing else.

What should I do to make it works ? :\

create a rootdisk [censored]...

BootDisk: bare.i
RootDisk: color.gz

EXT2-fs error(device ramdisk(1,0)): ext2_check_page: bad entry in directory #340: unaligned directory entry - offset=1024, inode=2304, rec_len=190, name_len=0

at a guess i would say that that is its way of saying the disk is corrupted. try downloading it again.

I found this while out surfing:

http://www.userlocal.com/dosslack/

This utility allows you to boot the slack CD from DOS, for all of you people having problems lately with older computers and you only need 1 floppy disk instead of 6!!!
