Review

In 1996, Nintendo released Super Mario 64, the game that rewrote the book for the platforming genre, and in many ways, console gaming in general. It's one of the greatest games of all time... and now you can fit an updated version of that game into your hip pocket with the release of Super Mario 64 DS(SM64DS).

The brilliance of the DS is finally utilized (in my most humble opinion) in SM64DS. Not only are you able to enjoy the 1996 version on your DS, but the additions of new characters, extra levels and about 28 mini games (that are played with the STYLUS exclusively) boost the re-playability and enjoyment of the game overall.

But, like a dedicated reviewer who needs to find a problem, my only gripe was the fact that the controls do take a while getting used to.

Final Thoughts

At the moment with few games out on the market offering a solid DS experience, SM64DS leads the field. Its a great buy that is sure to have u spending 20+ hours on the game.

The mini games, however, will never bore you.
