Ping - This utility will check to see if a defined address is accessable. It works by sending a set of packets to an address and will await a response. Traceroute - This utility will trace a packet from our server to a user specified address, showing how many hops the packet requires to reach the host and how long each hop takes. DNS - This utility will allow you to lookup the IP address of a HostName or look up the HostName of an IP Address. Lookup DNS Records - This utility will allow you to lookup the IP Records of an IP or Host address. The "DNS Server Address" field is optional, you can specify a DNS Server to lookup your result through if you'd like.

The various options are as follows:

A - Network Address - An A record is used to assign a domain to an IPv4 address and is the most common of all of the records in the DNS system.IPv4 belongs to the IN-ADDR.ARPA domain.

ANY - Any & All Information - Not a specific record type, but will return all records with any type contained on a specific domain.

MX - Mail Exchange Records - An MX (Mail eXchange) Record is an entry in a domain name database that specifies a mail server to handle a domain name's email.

NS - Name Servers - An NS (Name Server) Record contains authoritive information for a domain.

HINFO - Host Information - The HINFO (Host Info) Record holds the host information for the domain. While rare they do exist. Fields contained are CPU (arbetrary informaiton about the system) and OS (information describing the OS of the computer).

AXFR - Zone Transfer, Host Must Be Authoritive - The full zone transfer of DNS Records between two Name Servers.

SOA - Zone of Authority Records - The SOA (Start of Authority) Record contains information for the zone of a domain name.

Information contained in the SOA record is:

   Source - The DNS Server domain which is the primary source of the zone.
   Mailbox - The email address of the zone owner.
   Serial - The ID for the zone. This is increased when the zone is changed.
   Refresh - The amount of time before the zone should be refreshed (in seconds).
   Retry - The amount of time that should pass before a retry should occour on a failed refresh.
   Expire - Limit on the time that must pass before the zone is no longer authoritive.
   Minimum TTL - The amount of time that a zone record can remain in cache before the non-authoritive record should refresh.
Geo Location - This utility will allow you to check the City, Country & Latitude and Longitude of an address. Domain Whois - This utility will allow you to check the ownership information of a domain name. Whois Local Address - This utility will allow you to check your IP Address, Browser Referrer, Browser Information, etc. Check Port Status - This utility will allow you to check if a port on an address is allowing connections.
