Review

Hell wants him. Heaven wont take him. Earth needs him.

Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book HellBlazer, the story revolves around John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a 'spiritual detective' whos literally been to hell and back.

Constantine who has the 'gift' of being able to see the angels and demons present on earth is a vigilante trying to gain access into heaven after a somewhat less than holy life.
So he spends his days smoking cigarets, vanquishing demons and hanging out at gothic clubs looking for, you guessed it, more demons.

Dont let his 'buffy the vampire slayer' demeanour fool you.
He's doing it cos hes quickly dying of lung cancer and he knows that because of a dark secret he holds, he is doomed to spend the rest of his days in hell.

And then he meets Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) whos sister she believes was murdered by Lucifer himself and needs Constantines help to figure out this twisted puzzle.
Could this be his chance for redemption?
Could this be his ticket into heaven at last?
...
Could this be the setting of a sequel?

Yes, Yes and Yes

Reviers Note:
Constantine is a great film that brings a more rounded performance from Keanu Reeves and takes the viewer beyond Heaven and Hell and into a more cynical, refreshing view of what God and Satan do in their spare time.
Its hard to fill u in with anything else about the film without spoiling the experience, which, in itself is a mark of a great film.

I believe its off the circuit now but i strongly advise on purchasing the DVD.
