Kinda like how some people will put up Hitler just cause he's so hated.

uhhh... cold sunn that one had better not be directed towards me. i don't talk about hitler cuz he's hated... i find him to be a very interesting man. i've been reading stuff about him since i was 13. it's not just cuz he's hated. he had a life outside of being a nazi. he had a childhood.. had a family. and it just interests me to see how an innocent child can turn into something like he did. that's all.

and SR, i like a lot of things that guys like... the matrix just didn't appeal to me. that's all. just like how i hate the new star wars movies, not cuz i hate star wars. i love the old ones. i'm just not down with CGI graphics in movies. seems like they have started to rely on them way too much. they care less and less about the plot and the acting and concentrate on the graphics and how "badass" they can make it. that doesn't sit well with me. but that's just me! i know a lot of people like that stuff, i just don't. i'm not the typical girly girl that dislikes "guy" things. i just don't like movies that are based mainly on CGI.

we're just playing with ya fleshwound. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. My "contrary" comment was directed at you also, but I was a little bit more subtle than coldsunn by hiding behind a "guys movie" theory.

IMHO the matrix plot is good - an innovative idea. That reality is really virtual reality, and anything is possible in that virtual reality. It's sci-fi but it is realistic. There are other movies that played like what we consider "reality" to be is nothing more than a hoax. Dark City is one such movie and I like it rather well also. But Dark City is about aliens, and it just didn't have the same appeal that a virtual reality does. I mean, what is cooler than getting a jack in your head and plugging you up to a virtual reality and downloading all kinds of information and crap into your skull?

Don't let the CGI graphics distract you from the other coolalities of the movie. I don't see what the big deal about CGI graphics is anyway. I've heard other people complain about it, but I don't mind it at all. I LIKE it even.

Ok, well, I've gotta stop arguing about it now. Something about your fanatical opinions makes me just DIE to argue with you.

And btw fleshwound, the plot thickens in matrix 2. That neo is "the one" turns out to be a big joke played by the machines to continue to subjugate the human mind. There has been many "the ones" in the past. You really don't give matrix the credit it deserves.

another edit, another P.S:

My contrary comment was only half a joke though. Maybe you don't take an opinion and stick with it just BECAUSE it's contrary. But I think you like to look for alternative thinking - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Like in hitler's example. I'm sure one day you were like, why does everybody hate hitler? Then you go research for reasons to like him. Finding several reasons, you're like "damn, this guy is pretty sweet". Then you go off and tell everybody about it and then when you get the expected reaction, gleefully argue your case.

In the case about matrix, I think it is slightly different. *Everybody* loves it so you watched it and found reasons to dislike it.

This is what I call fanatical opinions. There's good and bad about everything, and fanatically opinionated people concentrate either on the good or the bad. In every debate, in every opinion or stand I make, I try to bring out the good AND the bad. Except in the case where I'm arguing with fanatically opinionated people in which case I take the other extreme and try to balance the person out.

Example: micheal jackson

fanatical against: That guy is screwed up man, he molested children. I hate him!

fanatical for: I love his music! I love that guy and his style, he didn't molest children, never had a thought!

balanced opinion: dunno about molestation, really can't know for sure. But I like his music, although his personality seems kinda screwed up to me.

Darnitall I need to shut up. Ok, I'll tell you guys right now, I won't make another post off topic in this thread.

hehehehe. well, i do love to argue with you SR. about the whole contrary comment, i got that one, just decided to not bitch about it. oh my god! yeah.. i let that one slide. haha. perhaps i don't give the matrix enough credit, but oh well. i don't like it and you can't make me like it SR! ha! how you like that bitch? hehehe. j/k. anyway... yeah. i heard it the matrix reloaded looked cool, but that the ending was lame. i heard that from two different sources. plus, i don't really have time to go see it. i have two jobs and am working on starting up the business with jonathon.

i still don't like CGI though.

oh yeah.. the reason i started researching Hitler was cuz when i was 13 i had to read a biography and give a huge report about the person. most people picked rock stars or famous athletes. i wanted to do someone in history, i couldn't do Caligula cuz it was all too sexual. so i chose Hitler. i wanted someone who was interesting and perhaps a bit misunderstood. plus our school library had a lot more books about him than about Caligula. i also gave Vlad Dracula some consideration, but decided against it because again, too hard to find info about him at the school library. (yeah.. our library sucked ass)
anyway, it wasn't because there is such a stigma attached to Hitler, it's cuz he was damn interesting and i couldn't really do the first two i wanted.

so I looked at the website at the bottom of my desktop...and I found some really interesting stuff

So, Impy recommends

this was at the bottom of my desktop...the ideas are so creative (and dare I say innovative) it disearves a glance at the very least (you can actually send the guy something interesting about yourself and he'll design a shirt that he thinks fits you, and you either buy it, decline it and loose your chance, or if he likes you get it for fre...yeah it's creative

At least read the first page, that\'s worth some discussion

I\'m still looking at this one

heh, definatly watch this

look at the pages and explore their links

that is all

Boondock Saints was a great movie. The Animatrix ruled. I liked basically all of it, but I hated the animation style in World Record. Most of them added bits of story or aspect to the Matrix. You can goddamn eat yourself if you didn't like this movie.

Imperial tells me on aim to go see 25th Hour on dvd. I go to the video store, and they don't have it. I can almost understand not having it in theaters because my town is so shitty, but why not have it on dvd? Is there something about this movie that makes it so bad? They carry shitty movies no one has even heard of, pornography, and movies with the worst language I've ever heard. So what could be worse than those? And if it's not that, is it just because my city blows ass?

Phone Booth was fantastic. I watched it, and I loved it. It wasn't just interesting and actiony, there was actually a very emotional scene. I was surprised, I mean, I could really feel emotion coming out of this movie. More so than movies that are supposed to make you feel. It has style, alot of style.

Cold Sunn: Did the movie make you feel certain emotions, or did it force it out of you like things that hack robert frost has written?

anyway

Impy recommends:

The Postal Service good music, but sounds better at night.

and this shirt:

not that anyone cares, but here some excellent things that i have been enjoying:

MUSIC:

blitz: - someone's gonna die tonight
social distortion: - story of my life - ball and chain - i was wrong
suicidal tendancies: - i saw your mommy - hippie killers
shudder to think: - so into you
rammstein: - sonne (SR sings so well on this song!)

MOVIES:

The Evil Dead
Army of Darkness
28 Days Later

SITES:

http://www.oddtodd.com *some of the funniest cartoons ever. especially the ones about being laid off. watch them. you will laugh. and if you don't, then you suck!
http://www.somethingawful.com *funny site that has good articles. updated daily. very entertaining.
http://www.jaked.org/8ball.html *i swear this thing works. i have decided to base all my life's decision on what the magic infinity ball tells me to do.
http://www.80stees.com/ *have some of the best old school t-shirts.
http://www.ihr.org/ *site for the Institute of Historical Review. just read some of the stuff. even if you don't believe it all, at least you get a different perspective on things.

those are my suggestions for kewl things. of course, i'm a loser i do realize that most of the things i'm suggesting are old school... but it's so hard to find cool new stuff these days. so listen to the old songs, look at the old sites.. and buy old shirts off the other site. weeeeeeeee!

The "Fuck you" scene was my favorite, but I haven't watched all the deleted scenes.
