CHALMETTE, La. - Things didn't go well for Chad Caron, 22, when he entered the back door of an all-night diner with a handkerchief over his face and armed with a gun. A female employee immediately recognized him and called him by name.

Afterward, he took off his "disguise" and announced that "he was only joking." He reportedly remained at the business for a short time afterward and talked with the employee. Authorities were not called at the time.

Management of the business had later found that someone had cut the phone line to the business and phoned police the next day. Caron was arrested and booked on a charge of attempted robbery. He couldn't produce the gun, which he claims was a toy.
