during setup for slackware 9 i didn't put in a dns/nameserver ip and now i can only connect to website and servers via their ip. where is the setting for the dns because i have looked everywhere and i can't find it....

edit /etc/resolv.conf

indeed it's in /etc/resolv.conf
add to it:
nameserver ipofdnsdserverhere
nameserver ipof2ndserverhere (optional)
