This is directly taken out an intresting letter on the 2600 magazine but in my own words here it is..,

A man had boarderd an airplane and had sat down and opened up his 2600 magazine for some good reading, later he realized they had not left the terminal and there was a man standing right over him, the man told him to go with him, confused he just followed along, they had to screen him once again, this was all because of the 2600 magazine, they taught it was associated with terrorism when they saw him reading on "vulnerabilities" in "passport" thought reguarding the article on Microsoft's new Net.Passport.

the fact that you're taken off an airplane cuz some idiot doesnt know or understand what youre reading is just stupid. mad

this can be considered news i guess, but i just put it here not being sure, well i put this up cuz i want to know if people have stories like this, (doesnt have to be 2600) or any comments on this post.

thats a very interesting story... i do think airport security has become alot more serious about preventing terrorist situations and in a way its not stupid... they dunno who the hell the dude is reading the magazine and what he might do but if i was that guy i would be pretty pissed off

Yeah that's pretty stupid.
And CNN says undercover people are still finding security flaws at airports.

I know natl. security is a big issue and a lot of people want to be able to fly safely. That story, however, is ridiculous. I mean, nobody likes to be poked and probed (unless the one who's doing it is super hot wink ) when they get on the airplane. I personally feel that we are forefitting our civil liberties for assholes like that to come along and tell us that our reading material is inapropriate.
And come on, do you think if the people they employed weren't all half-bakes that man would have been dragged off the plane? Honestly I don't know too many publishers or magazines for that matter would be stupid enough to print information on terrorism and how to fudge passports. Had the idiot thought logically for a second, he may have realised what a huge [censored] mistake he was making.
I also remember this thing called the bill of rights. It says in the....2nd? amendment that there is freedom of press and freedom of speech. I kind of think that freedom of press and speech, and the freedom to choose your own reading material go hand in hand. It's not like he's reading [censored] military coordinates off to all the passengers in the plane. That means its most definitely something that the NSA should keep their big hairy asses out of.
What was this jerk doing dragging him off the plane for it in the first place? It was none of his business what the man was reading, whether or not it was terrorist related, because if the guy really wanted to blow himself up, it would only take a few keystrokes to find what he was looking for. There is no deprivation of information, here, or anywhere. So, even though it was a mistake and he was just reading 2600, the [censored] still had no business in the matter and should have left the guy alone.

Some people should be taken out back and shot!!

Wouldn't terrorists, by definition already not be in the right state of mind?

People who are hired by the Govt. don't realise these things, because they are illogical and ignorant. Maybe if they realised that the people they are fighting don't have the brains of a second grader, they will find a way to fight better. They are treating their opposition like neadrethal and all it is doing is causing the American people a big problem. These people may be nutso suicide bombers, but they most certainly aren't stupid. Maybe the FBI/CIA should get off their high horse and realise that these 'stupid foreigners' beat them to the chase. I just think they should start treating them like they are equals-- isnt that what they wanted in the first place?

I know that our security is important. This isn't really about the starting post though...but I feel like our country is being bullied around by these terrorists. We are changing our way of living to keep from being attacked. To me the people that die because of terrorism are dying for our right to live the way we live. Because if we are so tight on security that we can't live as freely was we want then we have no free country that is so worth dying for anymore.

i agree with CS, i was at the airport last weekend and they pulled me aside and made me unbuckle my pants in front of everyone. some little girl even laughed and said "its so small mommy". i don't want to live in a country like that.
