[14:59] *** Now talking in #undergroundnews
[14:59] *** Topic is 'Sorry about the IRC Downtime, someone got DoS happy... BTW, if you're going to
DoS us, at least hold us down, the constant reconnects suck.'
[14:59] DUMBASS!!!
[14:59] -undergroundnews- Hello SilentRage, welcome to #undergroundnews, we hope you enjoy your stay!
[14:59] ?
[14:59] THAT WAS ONE DUMBASS TECH HELP!!!
[14:59] Quote:
[15:00] haha
[15:00] "Hackers can't hack you if they can't ping you"
[15:00] What?!
[15:00] Stupid mother ****er
[15:00] roflmao
[15:00] and I was trying to explain to them that there's a bug in their router
[15:00] I said one thing
[15:00] he said another
[15:00] quote:
[15:00] "Technicians don't make mistakes"
[15:00] rofl
[15:01] after he said that first quote
[15:01] I laughed in his face
[15:01] but it's true what he sais
[15:01] if they can't reach you, they can't "hack" you
[15:02] lol
[15:02] but he didn't mean it like that
[15:02] he was one dumbass person
[15:02] yes
[15:02] so call again
[15:02] at least I got my question answered
[15:02] and hope you get another one on the phone
[15:02] hehe
[15:02] I wanted to know if this filter was supposed to filter local ports on incoming
packets
[15:02] it is not
[15:02] filters are only to prevent outgoing connections
[15:03] they have a bug where the router looks at the local port - and doens't care if it's
incoming or outgoing
[15:03] it just shuts that bastard packet down
[15:03] so if you filter so that people can't connect to port 10000
[15:03] then if somebody tries to connect to your server and their local port is 10000
[15:03] they can't connect
[15:03] pretty gay no?
[15:04] lol
[15:04] 13* SilentRage tries again to see if he can find an intelligent technician who knows
the TCP/IP protocol
[15:04] 13* SilentRage thinks to himself "fat chance"
[15:05] imaginary quote:
[15:05] "uh, that question wasn't on my tech helper test"
[15:05] haha
[15:05] rofl
[15:05] so they have to study a list of answers they can answer
[15:05] hhahaha
[15:05] haha
[15:05] err
[15:05] answers = questions
[15:05] 13* SilentRage nods
[15:05]
[15:06] haha, he gave this big lecture on what the router does. Default, nobody can
connect in, nobody can connect out
[15:06] after listening for the full 2 minutes he spoke
[15:06] I flat out and said:
[15:06] "You are incorrect"
[15:06] rofl
[15:06] he's like "What?!?"
[15:06] hahaha
[15:07] I'm like "Default is when nobody can connect in, and you can connect out on any
port"
[15:07] he's like "I get paid to be a technician"
[15:07] "Technicians are never wrong"
[15:07] omfg
[15:07] he's some foreign shmuck too - so it was hard to understand him
[15:07] you should have said, you get paid to know what the hell you are talking about
[15:08] for what company was this?
[15:08] LinkSys
[15:08] heh
[15:08] their Router support help

LOL! Arg, whenever I call tech support they always make the problem worse. They once hung up by accident (or maybe on purpose). I figure it out on my own. I am pleased to say I do that for a local tech firm and we all need to be certified techies... LOL unlike the clowns they pick up. LOL Rage that is a funny one, i think we should do prank phone calls to tech support. LOL, they are funny people.

The only time I ever called tech support was like 2 weeks after I got my first computer. windows wasn't loading right and he told me to check if all the cables are plugged in and then he told me that I have to format my hard-drive. that was the first and last time I'll ever call tech support.

Wonder if the UGN has ever though of offering tech support/ hmmmm ,,, thers some possible cash out there Im smelling. lol, anyways its just a thought.

I work in techsupport and can say without a doubt that hang up you recieved was probably intentional. lol, hate to say it but Ive done it myself. Only when the guy was an absolute prick that felt his knowledge was greater due to his degrees ect,,, umm why was he calling me then! LOL

For the most part I have had very very few positive experiences with techsupport regardless of why I called. However I havent called very many times and not in a long time. perhaps things have changed. LOL doubt it.
