The Japanese division of technology manufacturer Creative has shipped out thousands of its Zen Neeon MP3 players which are infected with the Wullik.B worm. The offending players are limited to the Asia-Pacfic region and are unavailable elsewhere.

How the infection occurred is unclear but some believe it was due to the computer which distributed the image of the operating system to the players carrying the worm and inadvertently copying it to the Neeons.

The threat of the worm spreading to a users pc is said to be low as long as anti-virus software is installed on the host computer since the MP3 player is treated as another hard drive and scanned accordingly.
