The brother of the 21-year-old known as "Ripper", who committed suicide while in a chat room, (sn reported), has spoken to the BBC about his sadness and anger that no-one tried to prevent Vedas from swallowing the pills live in front of a web cam.

"You see people laughing about it and encouraging him to take more," said Rich Vegas to the Outlook programme. "You look at the actions of people and there is such a disconnect from what was really happening. It's really sad."

Professor Boam, former head of the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention told the same programme that chatroom suicide was a growing danger.
