I sometimes wonder what the actual standards are rather than having spec's shoved down my throat by PC manufacturers... I'm mildly curious about everyone's PC spec's (plus links if possible). This thread is exempt from our "if it's dead leave it alone" rule ...

embarrassing is- $250 -for original crappy computer that i got some of the parts from. $150 - new video card $700 -for new case, motherboard, processor, hard drive, RAM $90 -DELL monitor $145 -22" NEC monitor $90 - another stick of RAM $50 - video capture card (forgot to mention) $30 - 5.1 surround sound card =$1270 big ones
also, the 22" is sweet, its kinda fuzzy, but i like to run it at 1800X1440 and the 17" at 1600X1200. i got my 22" used from a local shop who was having a sale. it kinda makes games look crappy at 800X600, but as long as you can pump it higher, its glorious.

I guess it wasn't Geil, guess I decided to go with the PQI 2GB Dual Channel Kit $359.99; the other choice is Geil 2GB Dual Channel Kit $355.50... The PQI had more reviews, but i may change my mind later. Both come with copper heatspreaders (shims)

Laptop: Compaq Presario 14" widescreen TFT 64 bit AMD Turion 1.6ghz 512 DDR400 60 gig HDD 3 1/2 floppy DVD burner Radeon ATI PCI express 128MB graphics $879.99 -tax and i got an N-charge batt pack for it, says add 5-10 hours but lasted about 1-1.5 hours playing battlefeild 2.
Desktop: self built 17" CRT AMD AthlonXP 2800+ 32 bit 512mb DDR400 RAM 500mhz FSB 123gig PC3200 HDD DVD Burner CD Writer (seperate from DVD) - plays cd's from drive, not in windows, so uses no system resources ATI Radeon 256mb 9200SE sapphire atlantis 650watt PSU with 3 fans Trust 2:1 speaker set with sub woofer, not great... but at least i dont crap myself when playing Doom 3.
Cooling: some double fanned graphics card cooler i got of friend, also copper cooler on mem stick Black Case with Blue Neons/Xenons/Cold cathodes around hull, 120 mm fan on back, 2 40mm fans on front, 60mm on side panel (all with blue led's) and artic cpu fan.
Assuming 0 is an invalid socket handle value. Uncontrollably lame.

My Work Machine Brand: IBM Model: ThinkCentre A50 8090-22U Monitor: Acer AL1714cb 17" LCD Case: Standard IBM PCI Ultra Small Form Factor (1x2) Video Card: Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Floppy: MadDog Multimedia USB 3 1/2" Drive RAM: 1GB Factory RAM Hard Disk: 80GB 7200RPM EIDE[/URL] Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 3.0GHz (1MB), 800MHz FSB (with Hyper Threading) Motherboard: Intel Chipset w/ Gigabit Ethernet OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 Essentially a stock IBM, with a larger HD and RAM. I mainly use this station for development using Zend Studio and Rational Development Platform 6. I'm looking to bump the HD and double the RAM at this rate. Rational 6 is a little harder on the machine.
