Mail Wiper, developer of Anti-spyware software 'Spy Wiper' and their affiliate advertising company Seismic Entertainment Productions have had a complaint filed against them with the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive and misleading advertising.

The complaint has been filed by a Washington based group who want both companies investigated, and blocks made on their use of the practise of 'Homepage Hijacking' in which a users homepage setting is changed without permission.

The complainant believes that a number of other anti-spyware companies are also resorting to similar tactics to sell their software. One anti-spyware software was recently found to actually install software commonly thought of as spyware.
