The Federal Bureau of Investigation will use MicroStrategy Inc.'s reporting and analysis software with the bureau's own data warehouse as part of its anti-terrorism efforts.

The business-intelligence software will support information sharing among law-enforcement, intelligence, and homeland-security agencies, MicroStrategy said late Monday.

The Web-based MicroStrategy software will be used in conjunction with other software tools to help FBI analysts identify and study data relevant to their investigations. Other details of the project were not disclosed.

MicroStrategy put the value of the FBI's software and service purchases at about $720,000. MicroStrategy already is used by the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force.
