52 people have been arrested in The Netherlands on charges they defrauded people through the infamous "Nigerian email" scam which promises riches from the politically troubled nation. 80 officers raided 23 apartments and made the arrests.

The scam artists are said to have made millions of euros recently off people across the world from the US, to Japan, Russia, England, Sweden, and Switzerland. 50,000 in euros ($62,000 US) was found in the apartments along with fake passports and PCs.

Police are not allowed to identify the suspects because of privacy laws but say most of them are Nigerians. One tried to jump from a third floor apartment when police busted in. More than a million emails were sent which flooded Dutch. email servers.
