Nintendo Co Ltd have announced that there will be a next generation GameCube on the market by next year or 2006, squashing rumours that stated Nintendo would be giving up on the GameCube line.

One business newspaper reported that there had been a delay on the new GameCube's production, a report that has been vehemently denied. "Our machine will be ready at the same time as the other new consoles," Nintendo said through a spokesperson.

Analysts expect Nintendo to stick to to its current method of developing more "fun" styled video games, which help differentiate the GameCube from its rivals, the PS2 and Xbox.
