A new personal protection card is now available that can detect two of the most common date rape drugs used in unsuspecting victims drinks. The card picks up traces of GHB or liquid ecstasy, and Ketamine, also known as Special K.

To be effective a sample of the drink must be dripped onto the card, or a similar coaster version, and if it turns blue then the person will know that they have a laced beverage. The device is said to be 95% accurate but the sample must be small.

Also, there are certain drinks, particularly acidic ones, which the card will not work with, so the product will remain under field test conditions for the time being.
