Skype and Kazaa creators Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom have launched a broadband online TV service, Joost. The service will be run by CEO Fredrik de Wahl, who has worked with the successful entrepeneurs previously.

Joost can now be tested at its web site and beta testers are asked to report any problems they experience. De Wahl told a press conference that Joost will work with Warner Music and Endemol, as well as the UK's September films.

The service will profit from advertising, and collaboration with the aforementioned companies. An official launch, said de Wahl is planned for "... absolutely the first six months of this year."
