Militia in Iraq who recently attacked and killed US soldiers in the US' third-deadliest day in the history of the 4-year war were wearing US military uniform and as suched gained access through many military checkpoints.

The men ambushed US forces in a secure area, killing five servicemen in the 20 minutes it took to bring the attackers down. The disturbing new tactic comes at a time when President Bush is implementing a new strategy for the war.

The attack in Karbala was the first time militia had worn US military uniform.
