64-year-old psychologist Bruce Alistair Beaton has defended a therapy in which he made a bulimic client wear a dog collar and refer to him as 'master' while he cracked a whip (SN reported) as being within the ethical guidelines accepted by his profession.
He was charged with four counts of indecent assault and one of aggravated sexual penetration after police secretly video taped a session. Beaton has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The psychologist said that because the client was in a violent relationship normal methods were not working. On the tape the client swears that she will give her body to him "to become a better person".
