Do the free proxy's log your ip at all?
Oh, and is there anyway to trace a person through a proxy while they are connected to you?
Basically are there any dangers after you've gone through a proxy or are you for the most part anonymous?

that all depends. proxies keep logs but those are deleted after a while. best thing to do is use proxies that are not in the states. so if someone sees the proxy IP an he wants to contact the administrator or the proxy he would first have to find a way to talk to him, different language etc.

yeah, an alternative is getting proxy software and install it at a school or library or something and use that to anonymize yourself with no fear of logs.

Umm... To my knowledge Shell accounts have nothing to do with proxies.. But you could consider a proxy a router in a way... smirk

Most open proxys log, and majority are not anonymous. There are many checkers and scanners, one will be created within themonth by us. It will use env variables to check the anonymity levels of proxys.

or you could do what I do and scan for unprotected cisco routers for a couple of weeks, find some, and jus use them to bounce ur connection. there are other routers out there that ship without an password and routers don't keep logs so no worries there. anyways, once you take one over you can change everything. I've caught at least one other person on this board usin a stolen cisco to bounce there connections, you know who you are laugh

So what utilitie do you use to scan for cisco routers that have the default password?
I can find tons of info on controlling the routers themselves. But how do you find them in the first place?
If using a port scanner is there a particular port I scan for?

you use a port scanner. Generally a cisco router witll have port 23 and 79 open. It should say "User reqquest verification" or some ****..

Isn't that a little vague....I mean they're just telnet and finger ports...

What about scanning for hosts with an open UDP 520 port. That's the port RIP uses to communicate so if it's open, there's a (FAT?) chance it's a router....

Dunno about cisco in particular though...

chances are, if your host has ip 23 and 79 open, and port 23 states "User Access Verification" it is going to end up being a cisco router.

Generally no usernames, usually just a common password. Read my Cisco Router text on the kbase.
