Yahoo has announced it will be doubling the cost of its music service, bringing the promotion period which sought to lure in iTunes users. Annual subscription will rise to US$120 effective on the 1st of November.

Yahoo! entered the online music market in May, with annual subscription costing just US$60. Most industry analysts had predicted that the small price would not last. Monthly subscription is set to rise to US$11.99.

This is still well below the price set by Napster or RealNetworks.
