The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced that the launch of the first test satellite for the civil navigation system, dubbed Galileo, has been delayed until the 28th of December -- a delay of two days.

The delay was announced by an official from the Roskosmos Russian space agency, who said: "Following a request from its sponsor (the ESA), the launch has been put back from December 26 to December 28."

In a statement online, the ESA stated that "The necessary re-configuration and validation are currently predicted to lead to a delay of at least two days for this launch, originally scheduled to take place on 26 December."
