Hitachi has been demonstrating new technology that displays flat images in 3D. Transpost allows 360-degree viewing of an object rendered in light, without the need to use special glasses.

The technology looks like a kiosk, is over six-feet tall and over one-foot in diameter, says the akibalive website.

Hitachi's technology - which uses a combination of mirrors and light to create the image - is reportedly being developed for use in shop displays and games.
