Craig Cockburn, a senior IT application specialist from Scotland, is having trouble getting his e-mails through because filters block the four letter word in his name. He spelled it C0ckburn so that it would get to the newspaper reporting this.
Cockburn says: "I've been using e-mail for 21 years. and at no time in that long time has e-mail been as unreliable as it is now." He says his the filter for his company, the Scottish Tourist Board, blocks his e-mail too as well as Hotmail.
Cockburn also complains that filters block out the word "specialist" because "cialist" refers to a viagra-like drug hawked on the net. As a programmer, Cockburn hopes a solution can be made to combat spam without blocking legitimate e-mails.
