Network analysts are warning that mobile storage devices such as Apple's iPod could be used to steal data from, or introduce Trojans or viruses to corporate networks.

The warning covers mobile storage devices like the iPod, digital cameras with smart media cards, memory sticks, compact flash and similar memory media.

Faster to transfer to than CD's, and typically making use of FireWire or USB ports, portable storage devices could potentially be used to send large amounts of data through often unprotected PC ports.
