I am trying to crack this encryption. is there a way to tell what kind of encryption it is. i know if i look though more of the source code i will be able to find it but the source was orginally encoded with Microsoft Script Encoder. i am not to sure if the program decoded that right. but anyway. this is the encrypted text

PGZvbnQgZmFjZT0iVmVyZGFuYSIgc2l6ZT0iMiIgY29sb3I9ImdyYXkiPlRoaXMgbWVzc2FnZSB3YXMgcG9zdGVkIHVzaW5nIHRoZSBQZXJzb25hbCBFZGl0aW9uIG9mIFRvYXN0IEZvcnVtcyAxLjYuICBHZXQgYSBmcmVlLCBza2lubmFi bGUgQVNQIG1lc3NhZ2UgYm9hcmQgZm9yIHlvdXIgc2l0ZSBhdCA8YSBocmVmPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnRvYXN0Zm9ydW1zLmNvbSIgdGFyZ2V0PSJfYmxhbmsiPnRvYXN0Zm9ydW1zLmNvbTwvYT4hPC9mb250PiAg

I played with this for abit and found out this part here is needed for the rest of the text to unencrypt

PGZvbnQgZmFjZT0iVmVyZGFuYSIgc2l6ZT0iMiIgY29sb3I9ImdyYXkiPl

if i just put part of the code in there at a time and then run the asp stuff it will show what that part of the encrypted text is.

anyways if i go though the long process finding out what each letter is. how would a make a program to do it for me the next time. cause there is still lots of the source excrypted..

I was prepared to scoff at your request, but since you said it was encoded VBScript then it isn't hard to decode at all. Provided that is all there is gone into encoding it. Please give me a link to the page with the encoded content and I'll see what I can do. I've done some research in this area before, and find it interesting.

Searching the net with google I found the string : "PGZvbnQg" appearing in a lot of web pages, mostly in, what I belive to be, encrypted emails that all begin with something like :

Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
found here

or

Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
name=Whatnew[1].htm
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
found here

(just search with google and take a look)

so I was thinking that maybe is not just a simple encryption done in VBScript. Then again, it may all be a coincidence and I may be wrong.

Hope this helps.

Here's a link that could be usefull for Base 64 Encoding/Decoding :

erm. Suredly VBS encoding isn't done with Base64. VBS has it's own object and method for encoding. That's really sad if all it is is Base64.

It seems to decode a part of the encryption then it becomes [censored]

Code
