A HU card is the smart card that is inserted into your reciever which contains the code for your dish programing. With a smart card reader/writer these cards can be unlocked to allow all programing to be availible to you.

so say i was to get a satelite dish and the reciver has one of these "smart cards" on it is there a way to unlock everything on the card so i get all chanels on it without the satilite company finding out?

yep .. just like that... but you wouldn't be able to get firmware upgrades for your reciever.. but that's not a problem. You still get everything for free, PPV HBO .. everything.

I socialed a friends mum into payin an extra $5 a month to add my reciever to their account :x. I get all upgrades and every channel.

sweet deal .... which dish service are you using?
Posted By: The One And Only Tallguy Re: Satelite Hacking - 04/22/02 06:19 PM
wow that pretty cool, BUT how do you do it? I mean you can't just plug it into your computer or anything. so how is it done? do you type a password in or something? and what happins if the dish company finds out? or is it even possible for them to find out?

Smart card programmer + box of smart cards = godly... Or you can find them online programmed.

The smart card programmer is $200 online or you can find plans still i believe.

All they do is deactivate the card, and possibly the dish also. The do this by whe your box downloads options and updates, it snags an alternative patch which after an update it crashes your reciever.

wow there is a ton of info out there on satellite hacking\programing~!

check out some of the links I found.. http://www.dss-islands.com http://www.dsscardware.com http://www.dr7.com/ http://online.securityfocus.com/news/143 http://www.govital.net/~soz/links/satelite_tv_hacking.htm

````````````````````````````````````````````
I found that the emulaters seem to be the best way to go now after the whole "black sunday" thing. cause the emulaters are not afected by any "ecm" so it would be a lot cheaper too invest in that than to invest in geting a card and a unlooper, cause the card could be destroyed by the networks future ecm trys...
An update from the world of Dss hacking...
DTV - H cards are dead... emulation for the Hu is in beta and very private... P4 eeprom is dumped with highly private beta testing being done now.
Dish - Well, as always, when the kill the card, no one had better even have a pace maker in the room. I mean, there ECM's will kill you family pet and cripple little Johhny. Seriously, a real good emulation is out but requires hardware mods. Rumors of some good private auto roller software is bouncing around but is not confirmed.
Be careful with the term "Smart Card"... that is a generic term that is referencing an ISO 7816. Not just any smart card will work. It requires the base eeprom flash that is dumped but not enirely mapped. To the best of my knowledge, there has not been a confirmed case of a blank smart card being flashed and enabled to decode the stream. Not saying there isn't one, just not that has been advertised or sold... just dreamed of. The exception may be EmuGold wink .
Most of the generic ones are white or yellow. Sometimes, scammers will try to pass these off as working DTV or Dish cards. For the regular, everyday signal thief, go with a provider manufactored card. Hu's are currently going for around $100, H's are mini ice scrapers worth nothing, and the P4 for around $300 (or there abouts). Don't buy a P4 LOL.
Unloopers are roughly $100 also. Programmers and bootloaders are now for the most part useless but hang on to them if ya got them... they may make a comeback.
Crystal, if your Dad has that many, he is holding a gold mine. If you can describe one to me, I can tell you if it is right or not. The Hu's are purplish with a football player on it. On the back, there is the gold ASIC pad and just under the bar code is a number that begins with Hu.
That's the short of it I think.
Diamond... good to run into you, come by and visit when you get the chance smile
Rom 3 Dish cards are around $100. There are different card versions in Dish that are categorized by there Rom designation. Not all can be programmed.
Dish is a pain in the [censored] <img border="0" alt="[[censored]]" title="" src="graemlins/[censored].gif" /> laugh . Not enough bang for the hassle LOL. DTV is the way to go in most cases.
Be carful, Directv is running alot of sites now and sueing alot of people. Directv is much easier to hack than Dishnet. Remember at this time only a hu card can be hacked for directv. The p4 hack is not availible yet. BLAnK WHITE SMARTCARDS WILL NOT WORK.anyone that says they will is lieing.Never plug a phoneline in with a hacked card.
The best loader i've found(reader/writer wont work for hu it must be a loader) is the omega2 from www.dss-tek.com. Yes you can get them for $50 less but you get what you pay for. Some wont load 4b cards.
cck out
www.dsschat.com
www.magna2d.com
www.dsshelper.com
www.dssxtreme.com
load them yourself, and use private software.
