i was thinking... it would b awesome to have like your own server for aim to let other users on your LAN to connect to. I know it has to be online to authenticate the username and password but what if you as a server could set up your own to use on the lan. Is it possible or are there any programs similar?

Actually IBM, who owns Lotus Notes, markets a product called sametime. It does AIM and more. You can also add outside AIM friends so you can have both internal "secure" conversations, and conversations on the outside.

So you can run AOL INSTANT MESSANGER on your home lan w/o needing the internet or anything? If so i might consider getting it somehow.

Yes Moff, you can do that, if you search AIM trick websites and [censored] you'll probably find a list of "Private" AIM Servers and [censored]...

hey Energy i just recalled that i had a Lotus Notes CD back home about a month ago or so but i didn't want to install that [censored] coz i was busy and i left it there, i think it was v 6.0 or something like that if i recall good...

Anyway listen, can you please tell me the exact name of the cd and the version so i can buy it.

Guys you probably don't know, but one CD here costs not more than 2 EURO's so imagine it, i can buy new CD's everyday... they're toooo cheap.
