Aight, I need to know if it is possible to encrypt a cd so that before you can access the data you have to type in a password. I don't need anything "really" secure, I just need to keep some people out that don't know a whole lot about computers. Thanx. Oh, sorry if I put this in the wrong section but I'm in a hurry and don't have a whole lot of time.

I would think the answer is no. I mean that is what I would think. But you could store all your data in some HTML file and Password protect it with some easy to crack Javascript...

Okay, I phrased the question wrong, I just want to password protect the cd.

Right...

So put all your data in an HTML format with a JavaScript password script in it. Then burn the CD. Password protected CD.

hrm, interesting idea. I did some searching on goole (a search engine, you should try it sometime) and came up with these:

As well programs like winzip will allow you to password protect an archive that you create. Now I know this isn't password protecting the CD itself, but it will accomplish the exact same thing as what you are asking.

sum

I considered the winzip option but adding all the data to an archive takes WAY 2 much time, I think I found a proggy that'll let me do what I'm wanting 2. I'll keep in touch
