I find this utterly unbelievable but my friend swears it to be the truth that she downloaded kazaa and she went to open it, it installed and she had to restart her system for some reason then it came back up as windows

******** (7:37:06 PM): big screen all of a sudden took over my comp and said windows 98
******** (7:37:10 PM): ive used it before
******** (7:37:14 PM): trust em this was it
******** (7:37:20 PM): all from opening my kazaa folder

is this even possible im utterly confused, i havent been checking around the internet or any boards for a while cause of school so maybe this happening isnt news to you guys but could someone please explain how this happened or at least lend a theory

I assume from the topic that she's on a Mac. Well in that case, there are two things that I think. FIrst of all, there is no Kazaa for Mac, so it's not possible unless she's using an emulator. If she has a windows emulator installed, then all it's doing is starting up Kazaa in the Windows environment, nothing to worry about.

yes, that would seem to go along with her description(not included in my post) thanks she had me really confused there for a while

And if it was running on a mac, don't those use processors that is totally not compatible with windows??? RISC vs CISC???

Infinite, that's what took me confused too..

and perg, you said it could be just starting Kazaa in a windows environment, i think that if this is the case, then it would start kazaa that way only when kazaa would be launched you know, and it should have to restart the whole system, because then it wouldn't get an WIN98 screen.. if it's just starting it in a windows environment then it could just flicker the screen and start it that way or something else.. but restarting the system.. that doesn't make sense to me but i dunno.. maybe i'm wrong !
