alright im running windows XP and i bought this computer with a cd-rw drive its been working fine up until now. Now it wont burn anything i dont know a whole lot about burners so i tryed scan disk, virus scan and defragging my computer i use ROXIO easy cd creator platnum and ever time i try to write somthing to the disk it says windows encountered an error in copying this

any idea's as to whats going on?

Well First of all scandisk, defrag, and anti virus arent gonna do [censored] for you having a burner problem. Find out the manufactuer and model # of your CDRW. Lookt it up, make sure its compatible and get the XP driver. Completely remove it from your device manager then install the driver. If that doesent work, make sure you have all the jumpers set correctly, cables are plugged all the way in, etc. Also, make sure the material your trying to copy doesent have copyright protection on it. If that is the case I would suggest using better burning software. cloneCD is good. nero is too.
