If you do have it enabled, why can't I see mine? I wrote a random image script in ASP and it works on other forums....why not this one?

Test: [img]http://s2.csmn-ctd.net/imaruki/random.aspx[/img]

Okay, so it works inside the thread but not in my sig.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 02/24/05 04:08 AM
It's disabled; RE: I could care less to see images scroll by in sig's...
Posted By: Infinite Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 02/24/05 07:26 AM
I friggin hate image signatures. Outright obnoxious.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 02/24/05 07:47 AM
Agreed, especially the images in his script smirk

Okay, I understand.

i PMd giz for my invite smirk

i pm'd u for my Gmail invite.
Posted By: EndGame Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/19/05 07:14 AM
yea, i know this is a double post.
but this [censored] is weird!

i swear, previous to the above post i could see Imaruki's sig and he had this shaun.pcgeek[at]gmail email with the Gmail logo and the lot.

now, however, i can see the yahoo sig giz is talking about.
whoa!

anyone else had that problem?
perhaps the sig refreshed or something?

im at a loss.

iv just edited this post and i can see the gmail sig again!
iv saved the sig in bitmap format. i just emailed it to u giz.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/19/05 07:33 AM
img tags aren't permitted in sig's...

For crying outloud, edit the first post! Man you don't listen well...
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/19/05 01:37 PM
Just to let you know Inf, after half an hour users cannot edit posts; yeh I know EndGame was within this 30 minute period, but just letting you know.

EndGame, if the 30 minute period hasn't expired, and you're posting to a standard thread (not a news article or review) please edit your previous post rather than spamming to get your postcount up.
Posted By: Girlie Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 02:25 AM
while we are on that topic, why is it only 30 minutes? I want to be able to edit my posts for at least like that day or something. frown
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 07:52 AM
Because, there have been many MANY cases of users going back and completely deleting all content of their posts; which leads discussion off or can even make a discussion completely pointless...

Besides, it's more fun to watch people get completely pissed off then try to retract their comments!
Posted By: Girlie Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 01:16 PM
I've never wanted to retract any comments, I've wanted to fix my spelling so that I didn't look like such a vo-tard.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 02:26 PM
You're a moderator, you should be able to edit anything you (or someone else) has posted in a forum you moderate wink .. Else, you're screwed too lol...
Posted By: Girlie Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 08:34 PM
I don't often need to edit a post in the news forum frown They are cut and pasted articles, therefore I don't have the opportunity to [censored] them up.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 08:52 PM
Yeh, well, I justify such a "low time" with this one reason; if you feel you need to spell check, do it before you post... It's not like we dont have a spellcheck button on every input box...
Posted By: Girlie Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/20/05 10:39 PM
blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda

:p
Posted By: IceMyst Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/21/05 12:20 AM
Spell check? We dont need no stinking spell check.

i know about being able to edit your posts giz/j.
in fact id say most of my non-news posts have been edited time and time again by myself.

the wierd thing is, it seems my computer is quite fickle when it comes to allowing me to edit my posts.

if you read this post, ul see i was able to edit this post after i saw the yahoo sig.
what u cant see however, is that i DID try to incorporate this post in the one preceeding it.
i was given the msg that the time to edit my post has elapsed.
funnily enough tho, i was able to edit THIS post as u can read towards the end of the post: iv just edited this post and i can see the gmail sig again!

i dont know why this is happening, but iv reported it on the 'Bugs' board now.

you remind me a lot of weeve. I know there must be something sensible that you are trying to say, but I can't decode whatever the [censored] that is most of the time. Only you are worse than weeve, because at least he comes across sounding intelligent and it's just that I'm not up to his level or something, you just plain [censored] don't make any sense. Whatever message you are trying to convey gets lost about 2 seconds into your post. I just thought I'd put that out there for ya...

c'mon man, expand your thought process. Why can't they both be for that?
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/21/05 06:25 PM
Most webbots ignore meta keywords and only look at content.
Posted By: KillHour Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/22/05 05:25 AM
But why do we want everyone searching for "Illegal Uncle Suckers" ending up here? :p
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/22/05 06:23 AM
'eh most webbots only snag content; the majority of them ignore keywords now adays...

on lines 11-12 (of shadows first post):
mess with the best die like the rest

i was speaking to a Guest user on the irc network and asked em how they found UGN.
he said he had just rented the movie 'Hackers' and 'wanted to get into hacking'.

just noticed that key phrase now.

hehe, it works!

(that phrase was what Crash Overide wrote to Acid Burn when they were fighting over the tv network)
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/26/05 06:31 PM
Now whats fun is, all of the content on the forums are indexed by search engines (well, if you can get there when not logged in the spiders will see it as well); so that means that stupid terms like "Mess with the best, die like the rest" are cached content as keywords via search engines...

Now, accomdate that with the pointless and random conversations and that my friends is how we get users wink
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/26/05 06:33 PM
'eh just wait till you earn moderator privelages, then you will be able to bypass it in general...
Posted By: EndGame Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/26/05 07:09 PM
*googly eyed*

its easier learning this whole computer thing when u have hands on experience huh?
i mean, i can actually understand how a search engine works from knowing the context of the code.

giz, what are spiders?
i googled it and got arachnids and softdrinks with icecream.
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 07/26/05 09:47 PM
Search Engine Spiders, or Crawlers, are what the search engines use to retrieve content for searches.
Posted By: EndGame Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 08/04/05 10:24 AM
u know, from previously only using my pc for work in the office, online poker and watching movies, UGN really helps on the educational side!

i noticed u closed the 'Please Blow Me Up' thread on the Debates and Rants board.
this knowing about spiders/crawlers really helps put ur reasoning into the bigger picture. laugh
Posted By: Gremelin Re: [img][/img] In Signatures - 08/05/05 12:52 AM
wink ... See, there are some things you reap, and others you just close...

Reasoning: spidering and content... Sure, it's against the rules, sure it's mildly illegal, sure, it brings int he wrong crowd... But at least they learn other things while they're here...

If only they'd help with the advertising and donations...
