I read an article once which said love or new love, that feeling of butter flies in the stomach, is nothing more than a chemical released by the brain to cause us to want to procreate. The article went on, after one year of exposure to said person you will never feel that way with them again.

Anyone dissagree?

i disagree. i think there are enough ppl in the world who would also disagree. but i've been dating my g/f for almost 2 years now, and i can still get that feeling.//
I agree with both, but to the point with the article. I've been dating my girlfriend for 3 years and I get the same feelings.
Anyone that takes Bio 101 or simply watches the discovery channel will learn that chemicals are released to procreate. Hence your hard-on
To say that one would never have the same feelings (physically) towards the other person ever again isn't very logical.

I also would have to disagree, but I do see how wanting to procreate can be confused for love. I'm sure we've all met people before that we thought we loved them, but as time went on you realized you didn't want to be around them anymore.

However I've been with my fiancee for 2 and a half years, and I still get that feeling around her.

well, i agree on some level. it is just brain chemicals that make you feel "love" at first. but by the time you've been with someone for over a year and the "butterflies" are gone, you have grown to a whole new level of love. it's more like real love. you depend on the person, you trust the person, you know the person better than anyone. you love being around them and can't stand the thought of being without. this is more what love is made of. not some feeling in your stomach. so the butterflies are a nice prelude, but once they're gone you have so much more.

but i'm a girl... so i'm all sappy about the whole love thing

Remind me never to piss you off, and if by some chance I do piss you off. Remind me to duck!
