i just rcvd a dvd burner from new egg.com, but my pc isnt reading the drive. tried running add new hardware but it didnt detect it. ?!? ive never done this before, so i dont know much else to do.

Make sure it's jumpered correctly, make sure it's plugged into your IDE cable...
