The co-founder of YouTube, Chad Hurley, 30, has announced a plan whereby the company pays users for the content they post on the site. "We are getting an audience large enough where we have an opportunity to support creativity...," he said.

Hurley made his comments at the 'The Impact of Web 2.0 and Emerging Social Network Models' session at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He didn't go into detail about how the system will work.

Revver, another YouTube-like Web site, announced back in 2005 that it would be attaching advertising to user submitted videos and sharing the revenue with the users.
