i am trying to buy something on fleabay but it is too good to be true. how can i trace an email from these people or how do i do a who is who on the addy to find out who the addy belongs too?

there are 4 similar items all to good to be true but they are all from different users, yet the descriptions are very similar and i am geussing that in the end it is all the same person.

You cannot trace an email to find who owns it; what you have to do is get an email from them and you can determine through the headers then look for their IP addy; but then you're stuck with the ever popular "who does this IP belong to".

In essance, the onlyway you can find out who they are is by them making their email "[email protected]" or if they own the domain that their emailing you from (rare) you can do a whois on the domain.

I can't help you trace the email, but if you've got some item numbers I *might* be able to figure out if they're the same person.

If you look though the header, you can get an ip address. That ip address has to belong to someone, and has to have originated from somewhere. And like gizmo said, if they have their own domain, or they are using their isp provided ones, you can, if your feeling motivated, contact their isp, and try to get information from them that way.

if u got ip address then go to http://www.geektools.com and then in whois gave that ip and it will gave u the detail about isp
