US national security adviser Condoleezza Rice has admitted that Iraq may never have possessed WMD, tentatively echoing recent remarks by chief weapons inspector David Kay.

Rice told CBS News that the Saddam risk was more a 'gathering threat' rather than the specific threat that banned weapons would provide. Former British minister Doug Henderson has asked for qualification of the British stance in light of this.

His argument is that if the Americans are now saying that they got it wrong on Iraqs WMD, and the UK shared the same pre-war intelligence, the British government should revise their opinion in line with the revised US one.

i think most of us already knew that little bit of info. nice that they are actually admitting to it though. too bad when i say things like that to my father he still claims that we found WMD in Iraq... my poor brainwashed dad... he's so smart about everything else!

Yeah, Bush knew that there wern't any weapons of mass distruction in Iraq, from the very beggining, because there isn't any logic in sending thousands of troops into a country that can destroy them like that. He's just trying to finish what his father started.

proof? i can just as easily say "bush knew there were wmd there." and my argument would hold up just as good as yours. but i wouldn't say that, cuz i dont' have proof either way. i can make a stab at whether he thought there were or not, but i can't say whether he definately knew or not.//

Umm actualy I can honestly say he did know ther "were" there. During the Regan administration we gave the WMD to fight IRAN. You rember Regan, the president his daddy was vice to? Anyway we knew they did/do have WMD because we used to be silent allies with IRAQ and Sadam and friends. We helped him come into power and looked the other way while he used our mustard gas and WMD on IRAN and his own people.

The only WMDs we knew of were the fact that we gave him some early on. Also there were multiple press releases and statements made during hearings by high up officials (powell) that said we know some of what he has and where he has it.

So for someone to say we know he has it and we are going to get it, then to go in and takeover. Yeah, we can look at the obvious facts and deduce it was a lie. Especially after recent comments by powell and bush.

The question isn't if they do or don't. That we may never know. The question is, if the president didn't know for sure, why did he say ABSOLUTELY that they did. That is a lie.

Actually, he KNEW they didn't have [censored]. I'm still waiting for the newspaper headline that will never come "Bush lies to America - and no one cares."

I'd love to see "Hate bush, hate our government, but don't hate americans, were not in control." On liek a million flyers dropped heh, all this is our new peace offering. For the news all "Studies proove Bush bought presidency". Then I'd be happy with that situation. Though...if they impeached him...ug....cheny...the heart attack waiting to happen. *grabs chest*

People would rather watch stories bunnies being endangered, and pepsi having a new flavor then [censored] ever care about this [censored]. Lost sheep. Were all [censored] anyway, look at what weve done to the earth(burning trees, cutting them down, poisoning our air), to the ground(farming). So many issues far over small ones. These keep being ignored, and pushed away just like the rainforest. [censored] really...think about in the next few 10's of years, when we've decimated the rain forest fully, have no hope for real cures, or things of nature/history there that may be brilliant, and run off/washing from rain causes floods all over, into the sea. Which in turn causes fish to die, the ocean's animals to die, algae which is a natural recycler to die. Our [censored] plants recycle what WE BREATH. Heh it used to be hippish, then it was good to talk about, now it's old [censored] news, and were not gonna find another planet in time. Esp with the thought of some alien race helping us or some [censored]....yea....lets let a virus out of a contained place, by giving it new ways to spread(ships, technology, wormhole device, etc.), as if an intelligent species would help us move to a new planet when we can't even learn/change/work as a society for real. Heh, this is sort of off-topic, but Bush's approval rating has been dropping lately. I'm starting to think that we, as a country, used him to handle the 9/11 shock and are now going to dispose of him, just like everything else. Sort of humorous, we are all smarter than we thought.
