Since the middle of January, villagers in Sicily have been wondering why it is that objects are mysteriously bursting into flames for no apparent reason. Experts have been called in and mains electrical power turned off, but to no effect.

It all began when a television spontaneously combusted a month ago, followed by other electrical items, but then furniture started doing it too. Even a pile of wedding presents went up in flames, much to the annoyance of the bride-to-be's father.

Some residents of the village have been evacuated and experts in electricity, magnetic fields, telephony and geology have studied the phenomenon. The work of Satan is the most common theory, with an exorcist claiming that he's seen it all before.

Catholic Preists do not perform or belive in exorsism any longer to my knowledge. Actualy to hear it in church not Satan is this part of the mind wich we call temptation. Not an actual thing or being and the bible is a collection of stories to illustrate how to live our lives not true stories...

Anyone have anything to add to this, I am not a hardcore catholic, but that is the last I heard on this sort of subject from my 78 year old Catholic Grandmother and her priest friend.

Well there are places in this world where things happen which are hard to explain. I belive there is a hill in California wher if you set a ball at the bottom it will roll up the hill on it's own. Something to do with the earths magnetic feilds. I have heard of it, but myself never seen it.

We know that the northern lights have much to do with magnetic feilds. Electricity can be created by fashioning a copper coil and roatating a magnet inside causing the electrons to move. Could these fires be the result of a magnetic shift under the thin crust of our earth? It is possible. Maybe some huge chunk of manetised iorn ore mixed in the magma moved closer to the crust in this region....

O, on another note yes sintax, your right in part, in close to 100 years, the earth will experience a over due, full magmetic polar reversal(not magnetic, were not all gonna die), causing probably [censored] magma flow, maybe volcanos, I saw a long story on discovery on it. Yep ether, we have a grid we walk on that is magnetic, and energy proven by science. we have a plate grid, we have magnetic charge, gravity. Chaos theory denotes the possibility for Static discharge, from many different places, to combust a human being like lightning. In all possibilities this could just be that.

Of course it could be Nicoli Tesla's worst fear coming to life, the U.S., and Russian Governments zaping [censored] with "death rays". That's another great thing to call spontaneous combustion on, human included, other then dehydration of atmosphere. Electricity at the size, and strength tesla was dealing with.
