i have a LAN, and an WIN98 workstation cannot see shares from an WINXP workstation.
what can i do in order to make shares from XP to be available on the WIN98 workstations?
please provide help.urgent.thx.

Can you see the WINXP workstation, and just not the shares, or can you not see the XP machine at all?

I don't even have a W98 machine here anymore, but with Windows2000 it had a special option for enabling access to file shares from win98, perhaps winxp uses the same "special" network sharing?

yea. win98 machines can't see shares from 2k and up. but 2k and xp can see shares from 98. this is do to (usually) authentication routines which 2k and xp have, that 98 doesn't support. try this link:
