Why is this called the *nix & *nix forum? Not Unix & Linux?

*nix & *nix Security. Because it covers: Unix, Linux, BSD etc, people were complaining about the title saying "*Nix Security"

Why nix & nix, not *nix & *nux?

cas *nix symbolizes "unix" as a whole. Jesus scallion drop it, I changed it in the first place to people compaling, then a second time, I'm not changing it for a third...

My point is, you have a gaping huge typo on your forums. But you're the boss...

Uhm not really *lol*

1) if people say *nix than they mean all unix based operating systems

2) so if people say *nix security, they mean security of all the unix based operating systems

Scallion, you seem to think the two words are supposed to be different in the forum topic:

"Why nix & nix, not *nix & *nux?"

When in reality, a true synonym would be:

"Unix/Linux, and Unix/Linux Security" (yes maybe Gizmo should've put a comma in there so you wouldn't get confused)

Seeing it that way, it makes sense that this forum is for discussion anything-related Unix or Linux. Before it was just Unix/Linux Security and people may have thought that any Unix/Linux discussion in this forum MUST be on security.

So as you can see:

"*nix & *nux Security"

does not work in the meaning Gizmo was trying to get across.

I was tired of seeing unix and linux posts in general, people though these sections were for security relative postings only. We changed the names FOR this reason.
