Well, I was playing around at one of the development sites that I frequent, and I saw a new post on their board... Lindows 4.5 Development Edition (full edition) free. It's a coupon which does work (I got the download free). The boxed set is also free but you pay shipping.

If you're interested, even curious, get it! You can get the coupon from: http://www.nvu.com/landing_page.html

This is the same Lindows that was being shipped on pc's from several major retailers who wanted to stear away from M$...

It's going to be limited so if you want it, get it now before it's gone...

It comes with software that isnt free. SuSE for instance, they're software cost money because of thier installer, SaX, and YaST tools that they develop, that is what they are selling along with a couple free tech-support questions that you get coupons for when you purchase thier software. Also I believe Lindows was supposed to contain some MS libraries to allow for better working crossover software like wine or win4lin. You know that nothing comes for free from MS :p . I'm not really sure if they ever used the libraries or not. These are some of the reasons why linux distros can cost $$.

Coupon imaNvuFan expired on Mar 15, 2004 10:00 AM PST and is no longer valid

Well, to those of you who got it free, sweet... To those of you who got the digital download, note that you can download it any time from your user accounts... At least I can lol...

Lindows? don't they sell this in Wal-Mart? I'm not sure but I thought I heard somebody telling me bout Wal-Mart selling Lindows. Which is supposed to look jus like XP, the the box and the logo similar to Microsoft. I don't know, maybe that was somethin else he was talkin bout.

They used to sell it with new PC's at Walmart; I believe they still sell the boxed set there however.

It's not that bad of a distribution; Ghost can give you a low down on it though heh.
