In order to recieve it and your internet just install a splitter before your modem. Attach one side to your TV(s) and one to the cable modem. Then you get your basic cable thats being broadcast anyways and the broadband connection you pay an arm and a leg all in one. Note: this does not work for digital cable(at least I havent tested it) or for HBO, showtime, etc..maybe with a converter box(havent tested that either) | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 192 Member | Member Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 192 | Just wondering, would this make your actual cable internet noticably slower? | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 nobody | OP nobody Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 | well I highly doubt it since the signal is already there in the first place. I talked to someone who does this regularly and no it does not make it "noticeably" slower. | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 Community Owner | Community Owner Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 | If this process works it shoudn't be too slow, just use the standard high grade cable to your modem, don't use that shitty stuff that comes with a TV set to your modem, use it to your tv.
I have a few converters if anyone's interested... | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 626 Member | Member Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 626 | It wouldn't have an effect, it's veryyyyy slight.

Gizmo is right to but the good cable and all will be fine no diffrence. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 nobody | OP nobody Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 | make sure its at least 750MHz | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 Community Owner | Community Owner Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 | lol if you use some shitty "quick release" cable from rat shack to your cable modem you will get a shittier signal... but hey dont' take my word for it, go test it on your own... I mean I buy good cable for projects because I know how quality works with signals. | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 Community Owner | Community Owner Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 | Your best bet for descramblers are to locate plans that use analog tv boxes. And of corse if you're wanting analog TV boxes I have 2 that I'm trying to sell still. | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 nobody | OP nobody Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 | That only descrambles digital cable, not analog. Make sure your DIGITAL cable box is made by one of those manufactuers.
If you purchase it be sure to tell us how it worked out for you. | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 | I just recently bought digital cable but I don't want to pay $85 a month for HBO cinamax pay perview etc. I was wondering if anyone would know not just if this particular product would work, but this concept would? | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 Community Owner | Community Owner Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 7,203 Likes: 11 | well in analog standards with most companies, you can get hbo/showtime/cinemax on analog, all you'd ahve to do is rent an analog reciever from them and have them do their thizzle, or you can buy an analog catv box and mod it, not that hard... | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 | with digital cable you get something like 72 payperview chanels 12 HBO 11 cinamax. I just want to know if this specific product would work. http://www.chinafreehosting.com/digicable/index.asp | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 nobody | OP nobody Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 | Buy it send it to me and I will test it for you. It seems reasonable, although it's hard to tell from a picture what's inside. Read the F.A.Q.'s and make sure you box is in the list of compatible types. Also check this to find out how cable 'scrambling' works. http://www.howstuffworks.com/cable-tv5.htm We understand, you want to know if 'that' product works. If anyone here ever heard of it before or used it I'm more than sure they would speak up. Please stop reposting the same question over and over. Why don't you ditch the digital cable and get the pay-per-view on analog and pay the same price? | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 562 UGN Supporter | UGN Supporter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 562 | It works... Now buy it and come back and tell us if it works for you. | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 Junior Member | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 5 | sinetific, Because I don't just want 1 payperview 1 HBO and 1 cinamax when i can have so many more.
No, the only thing I want to know is if that concept would work.
The only thing I'm worried about is that this site does not offer a money back garentee. All other descrambler sites offer trials or garentees, but not the same product. I don't want to lose $200 on something that is useless. I wanted to call them but there phone is always busy. they have no email address. A website with no email not a good sign. could be a scam! | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 nobody | OP nobody Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 815 | what concept? It doesent tell you anything about it at the site. Honestly there is enough information available on digital cable out there yet for me to verify anything. why not look up the info on the site and get a hold of the admin? | | |
