Ok theoretically, if they where going to let him go in the future, he would just be able to come back and warn himself that he was going to get caught and none of this would ever happen. Therefore, they must keep him in custody and possibly kill him inorder to keep the <¿>temporal linearity. If not, our whole fabric of time will be ripped apart and our universe will be deystroyed, c'mon people you've seen the friggin movies! Time travel is impossible anyways. Oor he is just a huge liar working with some evil ass people that know insider secrets that got him a fake identity and will probably torture him and possibly his family very badly if he rats them out so he made up some stupid ass story.

My question is, if he is from the future, why was he not from the future when he was in the future and came back and therefore would know the future already and would have known that he had gotten caught. And obviously he has to make it back anyways, or else wouldn't he cease to exist in the future?

I know the theory, that time travel actually fulfills events. It's just one of many theories. Maybe it's an incorrect one. Actually I know it's an incorrect one. A human being cannot create a device that can time travel. period.

Why would you say this? And even if there wasn't a way to do it with a machine, its technically already possible going into space and/or blackholes.

I thought blackholes were folds in space... Like, uh, something goes in a black hole and then comes out of a white hole somewhere way far away. or maybe i'm just remembering something i thought of myself a while ago. i dont' really know.

This concept can be summed up easily; space and time are connected. But what does this mean? For example, a day is 24 hours, but it is also 24,894 miles or the amount of distance the Earth rotates. The Universe is so immense that distance is measured in terms of light years. A light year is the distance that light travels in a year. Light moves at approximately 186,000 miles per second, which translates to roughly 6 trillion miles. So when your traveling in space, you can measure your journey in both distance and time travelled.


The relationship runs even deeper. When travelling in space, the faster you move, the slower time moves. The fastest thing in the Universe is light and the closer you move toward its speed, the slower time goes. For example, if identical twins were separated; Bob stays on Earth, and Ed experiences a space mission at the speed of light. If they are 20 when the mission starts, on Earth the time elapsed is 22 years. When the twins are reunited, Bob will be 42, however Ed will only be 30.

I agree its not very likely, but I think when dealing with anything scientific its usually not wise to put a limitation on somethings possibility.

Like stated above and in your article, it is already possible in a way, with any object that moves at a great enough speed for a long enough duraction.

Too much theory, not enough substance as of yet, so its hard to say what would happen or what someone actually even considers time travel.

heh, jon, I'm the last kind of guy who would put limitations on human abilities. My absolutionism is based off of theocracy beliefs. Whether it's possible for humans to create a time machine *shrug*. Whether we will create time machines... no. At least, not to the point where we can jump forward or back 100 years or so.

What I wonder is why the article is in Yahoo! TV Entertainment News and Gossip and people take it seriously.

There was a front page headline on a tabloid where I work: "The Second Great Depression Could Make You Rich!" and this article reminded me of it. No one believes the tabloids.

No comment on time travel, I just think this article is shit, but interesting to read.

No, it's not been proven or even justly theorized that it's possible through black holes. The deal with black holes is that they could significantly reduce the distance required to traverse space, by acting as meeting points in the fabric of space. What is a couple billion trillion light years away essentially becomes a matter of a few billion miles. Still a long way, but it's considerably closer. That is just a shortcut though, not time travel, if it in fact would work.

the validity in his points lies where astronauts has been able to move a few seconds into the (past or future? dont' remember) in the fast flying rockets.

I read it, and have talked it over a lot with my Physics teacher and stuff. They don't move into the past or future, moving into the past is impossible. It APPEARS that they've moved into the future because relatively less time has elapsed. That's the whole point of the theory of relativity, that as you approach the speed of light, time changes, it goes slower. That's why if you were to travel at the speed of light for one year, 10 years or whatever would have passed on earth. Relatively less time elapsed, giving the appearance of travelling into the future.

He knew how the system worked and took advantage of it. This opens the door to a whole new defense in court. Lets kill him now before he kills those people in the future. Like the movie Minority Report (2002).

I saw another tabloid at work, an article in it was titled "Busted! Time Traveler Skips Bail!" Maybe it was talking about this same guy, maybe not. I get a little pissed when I see the stupid shit on tabloids and the fake celebrity pictures, not fake nudes just fakes. If they are real, the camera and printing porcess distort it so bad it looks faked.

Einstein's theory didn't say time travel was impossible, it's just impractical at the current level of technology.
