Boris Volfson of Huntington, Ind. has received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a design of anti-gravity machine which is almost classed as a perpetual motion machine because it alters the space-time equation.
Many say the Patent Office is breaking its own rules by approving the application because patents are not issued for devices which go contrary to the rules of physics but it now seems that no such rule exists.
A consultant of the American Physical Society in Washington, D.C. expressed his anger by saying "Approving these kind of patents can make it easier for scam artists to con people if they can get patents for screwball ideas." Source
