Apples music download service, iTunes, could be set for a European launch as early as next week. A press conference for the 15th of June is London has been organised by Apple and sources are saying it will be used to launch the service.

iTunes has left its competitors in the dust since launching in North America a year ago. However rivals such as Napster are already available in Europe, giving it a head start in the market. Apple will not confirm the subject of the press conference.

Apple spokesperson Liz Einbender said yesterday that "We're not talking about it. We just sent out invitations today."
