FYI,

There are some temperamental machines out there. Some that are so temperamental they insist on choosing there operating systems.

Case in point. I was loading Windows 98 on my machine at the office today. Instead of a simple install, I got a huge bang!!! Bamm Whammo Whirrrl and a clunk.

Upon further inspection after opening the cd drive I found my Windows 98 install disk in about 200 pieces. Yep, That machine hates MS.

Only *nix will ever touch the machine again. You have been warned, don't let it happen to you!

Replaced drive and SUSE 9.3 installed like a dream. By far the easiest *nix install I have ever done.

Interesting how SUSE 9.3 is more demanding from memory then windows xp. I run xp fine with 128mb,, well not fine but relatively smooth. However SUSE is quite slow. System requirememts themselves even suggest 256mb if using graphical environment. Just found it interesting.
